Lloyd Family Reunion
Lloyd Family reunion. This was a fun time, and so nice to see everyone that made it out. There were a lot of activities planned and the kids all had a ball.
Big Girl
Rileigh graduated from Kindergarten this year, we are so proud of her. It wa so cute they put on a ceremony just like a high school graduation, and even had a slide show presentation of the years activities and photos taken throughout. They also did a cute little program with the kids singing too. it was a fun night.
Lawn care
Our summer lawn care this year started off a little rough. We do not own a lawn mower, but found this weed hacker very cheap at a used place. For the first few times our lawn needed care we had to weed hack the entire thing. this was a HUGE job. I would barely finish with the thing and would then have to start again because the first spot would be long again. It felt like a miracle when our neighbors got a lawn mower and offered to let us use it, and that they would begin taking every other week as they were supposed to.

We went out walking on the centenial trail yesterday and it was tic central. We pulled 3 tics off Smokey, luckily only one of them had a hold on him when we found them, one off Jacilynn that had just started to dig in, and one off of Jakes neck. Sick sick sick!!!! I think I hate tics even more than spiders, which is really saying something for me. There are a lot of bikers on the trail so you really have to stay on your own side, well we saw bikers comeing the other way, both Jake and I looked back to make sure the kids were off to the side(they were), I even said watch out here come some bikers I turned around and about 10 seconds later one of the bikers yell watch out!! Crash! Boom! Bang! Jacilynn, in that split second, thought it a good idea to run out in front of the poor guy. Well she was creamed, got bruised and scraped up, the guy looked like he bumped his knee, but otherwise ok, which is lucky because that particular spot drops off pretty steeply to the water and he almost went over. I felt really bad, but a little mad too because the guy didn't even say sorry, he just looked like he wanted to chew us out, but didn't, then left. What a disaster! Although I did try to look at the bright side, though I had made Jacilynn go potty before we left, she managed to pee her pants somehwere in the 5-10 min. it took us to get there so I had to change her out of the skirt she was wearing into some jeans. Which I am sure ended up saving her a lot of skinnings, though I certainly wasn't happy at the time of the accident!
All in all not the best walk we have had.

The strawberries are all doing very well now and have lots of flowers or starts of berries on them. We have pumkins and queen squash comming up, zucchini, several of our corn, lettuce cuccumber a few radishes and one green pepper plant all comming up already. We are so excited!!!

The Farm

Our big family project right now is working on making a garden. Jake has been doing the digging, and the rest of us...namely me, have been picking rocks. Yes our little garden plot is chock full of rocks. Despite this I am so happy to be working towards a garden again. It has been a while and I have great hopes that this garden will be Much better than the last one which was in Laramie Wyoming. The soil there was mostly clay and the growing season extremely short.

Kassidy's B-day was on Easter this year. we made her cupcakes the day before got them all decorated up and put them in the oven to keep them fresh for the next day....Next day I turn on the broiler to toast the bagels for her ham and cream cheese bagel sandwiches. I started to smell this very sweet smell and that is when it hit me, the cupcakes were still in the oven. Well they didn't burn, but all the frosting had melted off, fortunatelly we had already taken pics the day before. To top off this fiasco, while I was crying over these silly cupcakes I almost burnt the bagels. I had to scrape a couple of them and while scraping one of said burntish bagels said bagel flew out of my hand and into a soaking pot in the sink thereby rendering said bagel soggy and useless. Oh brother. All I can say for this sad sad story is that Birthday girl was turning one and dind't know the difference.
